Bethesda was named in 1871, after the Presbyteriansí Bethesda Meeting House, which is still a local landmark. Since then, it has grown and changed from a small town to a bustling urban destination, with a wealth of restaurants, shopping malls, boutique shops and office buildings in and around its center. It is home to the National Institute of Health, the Bethesda Naval Hospital, and headquarters to many national organizations and companies. This large area extends from the District line to the south, to the Capital Beltway, and includes many unique and beautiful neighborhoods, some of which are Edgemoor, Westmoreland Hills, Sumner, Battery Park, Burning Tree, Kenwood Park, the Bethesda Palisades and Glen Echo, and East Bethesda. Price Range: $300,000 to $3,000,000.
